Alastair Coomer CDG
Alastair is the Head of Casting at the National Theatre, where he works on productions across the repertory.
Prior to the NT he was Casting Director at the Donmar Warehouse for five years. Notable productions there included The Weir, Coriolanus, My Night with Reg, Privacy, City of Angels, The Vote, Les Liaisons Dangereuses, Faith Healer, The Way of the World, The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie, Aristocrats and Measure for Measure.
In 2017 he cast Josie Rourke’s debut feature film Mary Queen of Scots (Working Title/ Focus) featuring Saoirse Ronan and Margot Robbie.
He was previously Deputy Head of Casting at the National Theatre where his work included the original productions of This House, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night- Time, One Man, Two Guvnors and War Horse.
He has worked extensively on productions in the West End, for London fringe venues, and various regional and touring theatre companies.
